MAX HACKE
BÜRO HACKE│GERMANY
Max Hacke (1986) is an architect based in Berlin. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Architectural Association in London. He worked in various London offices and founded Büro Hacke in Berlin in 2016. His work covers a broad spectrum, from educational and residential buildings to research and teaching. Not only in practice, but also in teaching and research, he focuses on the role of architecture in shaping new social and collective dynamics. His conceptual focus is on the changeability and flexibility of architecture, as well as on a tendency to understand architecture as a process rather than an object. He was teaching at the TU Braunschweig and lectured at the TU Berlin, where he explored Design & Build projects in Vienna, Berlin and Bolivia as an experimental teaching and research method. He was appointed to the Association of German Architects (BDA) in 2023. Together with Gustav Düsing, Max Hacke was awarded the German Architecture Prize 2023 and the DAM Prize 2024 for their TU Braunschweig study pavilion.
