BRANISLAV MITROVIĆ

Prof. Emeritus of Architecture Branislav Mitrović, regular member of AINS since 2012, was born on November 28, 1948. in Bar. After finishing high school, he entered the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade in 1967. He graduated in 1974 in the studio of Prof. Uroš Martinović. He was admitted to the Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts and Designers of Serbia in 1977. Between 1977 and 1986, he was employed in the design institute of RO “Srbijaprojekt” in positions ranging from independent to leading designer. From 1986 to 1990, he worked at the Center for Research and Design – CIP Belgrade as a leading designer. Since 1990, he has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade on the subject Architectural analysis of space. He was a member of the presidency of the Society of Architects of Belgrade from 1983 to 1989, and of the presidency of the Association of Architects of Serbia from 1987. He has been the president of the Association of Architects of Serbia since 1993. In 1995, he was elected as an associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade for the subject Design 3, Spectacle Objects and Architectural Analysis 1, 2, 3. From 1995 to 1997, he was the head of the Department of Design at the Faculty of Architecture. Since the 1997/98 school year, he has been leading STUDIO 11 at the design department. In 1998, he was elected a full professor at the Faculty of Architecture. Award of the May Architecture Salon and special recognition of the Architecture Salon for religious buildings; In 2006, he was accepted as a corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and in 2012, as a regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences. Member of ULUPUDS, DAB, SAS, UIA UNESCO, ISOCARP, WCC; ICOGRADA… Architect Branislav Mitrović has completed over 150 architectural competitions and won more than 100 awards. Professor Mitrović is the author of about 40 completed buildings. He is the recipient of 40 professional and social awards. He was elected the first professor emeritus of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade (2015).
