MARINA ZAJEC

Marina Zajec was born in 1979 in Zagreb. Since 1986 she lives in Bistra. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. After graduation, she worked for four years in the architectural office STUDIO UP. Since 2009 she has been running her own architectural office. Her first independent project was her own family home, a wooden structure insulated with straw bales. Since then, sustainable architecture and integral ecology have become the focus of her interest. After a one-year education organized by the Croatian Council for Green Building, in 2014 he received an international certificate of experts in green building. Through projects, it encourages the use of biodegradable materials and construction in accordance with the given location and the principles of the circular economy. She calls her work, the architecture of ecological local interventions – ARCHITECTURE E.L.I.
